Graduated from Dental School of Univaersidad Intercontinental in Mexico City. Degree in Pediatirc dentistry from Universidad Intercontinental, 1988 and Orthodontics from IDAP, 1999. Professor of Mexican Dental Association since 1991, author of multiple publications and international speaker. Former President of Mexican Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Private practice as Pediatric Dentist and Orthodontist in Veracruz, Mexico.

ANZSPD 23 Martin de Bock pic

Assoc. Prof Martin de Bock

Assoc Prof Martin de Bock is a Paediatric Endocrinologist in Christchurch, New Zealand. He trained in paediatric endocrinology in Auckland, New Zealand, where he gained his PhD. He then spent several years in Perth, Western Australia, where he developed his primary research focus on using diabetes technology to improve the lives of people with diabetes, and in particular using automated insulin delivery.

His international service roles include contributions to international consensus statements and diabetes management guidelines, and also serves on the diabetes committee of the Australia New Zealand Paediatric Endocrine Society. He has over 90 international peer reviewed publications, including in lead journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine.

Bevan James Eyles

Bevan James Eyles has been a world leading fitness professional since 1999. In this time he has won New Zealand fitness instructor of the year three times, competed to a high level at Ironman Triathlon, travelled the world training fitness instructors, started New Zealand’s top running business, and he’s also written the best selling book called 'I Will Make You Passionate About Exercise’.

Bevan has always been driven by one question: “How do you help people be their best?”. Through his own experiences and his work helping thousands of people he has gained some powerful insights into what creates an individual's best way of living.

In his presentation he will share some of these insights and teach proven strategies that help people consistently perform at their highest levels, so they can get the most out of their lives.

ANZSPD 23 Pip Greer

Dr Pip Greer

Pip is an Oral Medicine Specialist practicing in Christchurch, Auckland and Palmerston North in New Zealand, and lives in Christchurch with her family.

She completed her dental, medical and specialist qualifications through the University of Otago. Pip's particular clinical interests include oral mucosal disease and pain medicine.

Sally Hibbert

Sally Hibbert graduated from the University of Liverpool Dental School in 1986. She completed her Specialist Training and Masters research at the same institution and was awarded her MPhil for a study into the inheritance of cleft lip and palate.

After moving to Sydney in 2002 Sally was appointed as a Staff Specialist at Westmead Centre for Oral Heath and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, positions she held until late 2022.

She has many years of experience caring for children with special needs, anxiety, and chronic medical and craniofacial conditions and has lectured widely on these topics. She is now enjoying a slightly slower pace of life, working in part-time private practice in Sydney.

Dr Erin Mahoney

Erin Mahoney BDS MDSc(Paeds) PhD FRACDS(GDP) MRACDS(Paeds) FICS FPFA

Erin Mahoney is a Paediatric Dentist at Te Whatu Ora Hutt Hospital, Senior Clinical Lecturer, Department of Paediatrics, University of Otago and Vice President of the RACDS. Erin graduated from the University of Otago with a BDS in 1995, the University of Sydney with her speciality degree in 2002 and her PhD in 2006. Erin has worked as a Paediatric Dentist in Canada, Australia and New Zealand and continues to present locally and internationally about her love of treating children. Erin has a busy family life with her 5 children and trying to learn to sail so she can be a good partner to her husband who has recently bought a boat. One of Erins career highlights was being awarded Honorary Life Membership to the NZ Branch of ANZSPD.

ANZSPD Awras

Dr Awras Majeed

Dr Awras Majeed is a General Paediatrician based in Ōtautahi. She attended Otago Medical School School, graduating in 2007. She completed Paediatric training while working in Wellington, Christchurch and Nelson hospitals, gaining fellowship in 2018. During her training she had an interest in Paediatric Oncology and continued on as a Paediatrician in the Late Effects Assessment Programme in Christchurch. The LEAP service based in Christchurch travels to Wellington and across the South Island to provide ongoing follow-up. Dental care is repeatedly highlighted as a complex long-term late effect of cancer treatment with negative consequences for survivors. The health and financial burden has been significant.

ANZSPD Michelle Martin

Michelle Martin

Michelle graduated from Otago University in 1993 and has been working as a community and hospital dentist for Te Whatu Ora - Te Tai Tokerau/Northland since 1993. Her work takes her all around the Northland region across many different settings where she interacts with predominantly New Zealand Māori adults and children.

She has been researching Polynesian Amelogenesis Imperfecta in this population group – a variant of Amelogenesis Imperfecta largely unknown to the dental workforce and those who experience it.

ANZSPD 23 Julia Rucklidge

Professor Julia Rucklidge

Julia is a Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Canterbury and the Director of Te Puna Toiora, the Mental Health and Nutrition Research Lab, and co-author of The Better Brain. Originally from Toronto, Canada, in 2000, she immigrated to New Zealand.

She has become well known for her research investigating the interface between nutrition and mental health, having published over 150 empirical papers, been the recipient of numerous local and international awards and frequently featuring in the media on her work. Her 2014 TEDx talk has been viewed close to 5 million times.

Julia is passionate about challenging the current medical paradigm that dominates our understanding of psychiatric problems with the goal of raising awareness of how our toxic food environment is a significant contributor to poor mental health.

Ninna Estrella Yuson

Ninna Estrella Yuson is a staff specialist/consultant at the Women's and Children's Hospital and also works part-time in private at Paediatric Dental Care in Adelaide. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Paediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry. She finished her Master of Science in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan (USA) in 2007 and worked as Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Hospital Dentistry at the University of Michigan prior to moving to Australia.

She is the current federal councillor for the ANZSPD SANT Branch. Although she lives in Adelaide, she is still very involved abroad, serving as a consultant on the Council of Clinical Affairs in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (US) and fellowship committee in the IAPD.
